VELA NEGRA Candle
Meet VELA NEGRA, your new favorite candle line. Each candle is individually hand-poured in Washington, DC using 100% vegan coconut soy wax and ethically sourced wooden wicks. The black wax is a symbol for elegance and power, and the unique fragrances and their namesakes are inspired by the maker's Afro-Cuban and Guyanese heritage.
Fragrance Notes:
Ashé: This fragrance captures a cleansing palo santo and sage blend, grounded by chinotto, cedarwood and blackwood to bring a bit of ashé into your home.
Azúcar: This scent blends alluring fragrances of sweet honey balanced with notes of tamarind, clove, and brown sugar.
Flor: A celebration of Latin America, summer things and new beginnings! This scent blends gardenia, jasmine, tonka and sandalwood.
Mima: Inspired by the maker's grandmother, Carmelda Ufronia, an Afro-Cuban woman with Jamaican and Panamanian roots. This fragrance is a beautifully delightful blend of hibiscus and rosewater.
Papi: Inspired and dedicated to the maker's Guyanese father, Leon Lloyd and his appreciation of fine cologne, and the perfect tie and shirt combo, Papi is a rugged blend of amber, ginger, musk, and palo santo.
